In defense of fun. I’ve heard and read some critiques on fun.’s sophomore album, Some Nights, and feel that they are, seriously, unjustified. The lead vocals for fun. has proven that he has amazing vocals in their debut album, in every single song - he’s been able to weave his voice around crazy tales, being soft in the right moments and reaching certain notes at the most opportune moments. Since I feel that he has been able to prove his vocal prowess (Be Calm, for example), I’m glad fun. went in the direction that they decided to. In Some Nights, they were able to pull out the stops and show off their creativity. Someone told me they felt there was too much auto-tune used but I, seriously, thought that it was a perfect amount and during the best moments. Where Aim and Ignite launched their careers and cemented them as alternative artists, Some Nights offered them another opening and shows that they aren’t just a one-trick artist. So much love, dudes.
